About DREAM Alive
“Just to be a faithful presence in a student’s life has so much more impact than you realize.”
- Julia, DREAM Alive Mentor

Our Work
Every day, our scholars encounter challenges that lead to social despair and hinder their ability to create lasting change in their lives and those of their families.
Our research-based approach equips young people with the tools they need to exceed their expectations and achieve their career aspirations, giving them hope for a future without poverty.
Our hands-on programs strategically integrate career development, mentoring and character development, enabling our students to build career and educational paths and establish professional networks before they graduate high school.
Our Mission
DREAM Alive (DA) is a Non-Profit (501c3) which exists to break the cycle of poverty by helping youth discover career paths and mentoring them from 6th grade until high school graduation.
Our Model
Our unique and effective model ensures that our students receive the social-emotional, behavioral, and career support they need while participating in purposeful interventions and experiences. DREAM Alive:
- Mentors students for seven consecutive years, from grades 6 to 12
- Has staff and programing embedded in partner schools every day of the school year
- Exposes students to local businesses, career paths, and college options
DA scholars are more likely to graduate, have higher GPAs and lower instances of violence, suspension, and expulsion. Our focus on mentoring and career development provides the most vulnerable in Indy with a vision for a brighter future.
