1-on-1 Mentoring with DA
DREAM Alive (DA) helps break the cycle of poverty by mentoring at-risk youth from 7th grade through 12th grade, helping our youth find career paths. While DA starts mentoring in a group setting during the middle school years, the final high school years of mentoring our scholars are provided in a more personal, one-on-one setting. We call this our “Expectation Mentoring Program,” and we call our mentors in this program “DREAM Coaches,” as they do life with our scholars and coach them into their future. In order to serve the multitudes of youth we serve, we need your help to mentor our youth!
What does being a DREAM Coach entail?
We simply ask you to give a few hours of your month to sharing time in your life with your scholar (your matched “little”). DA will match you with a scholar, give you required training, staff support, intentional question to ask your scholar, and provide ideas of activities to participate in with your scholar. DA even plans a group outing every month if you want to bring your scholar to a planned event. We have seen that a few hours of investment in a scholar’s life over the school year with their mentor can make a huge difference in a scholars life.
